Painting a boat with 3 Brushes and 3 Colors
An Exciting Challenge for Beginner and Amateur Watercolor Artists.
Learn the essential basics of watercolor painting.
In this step by step lesson you will learn:
How to paint a beautiful and glowing evening sky.
How to paint a small fishing boat.
How to paint a figure in the boat holding a fishing rod.
How to paint water reflections.
How to assess your work and correct your painting.
You need a minimum of materials: just 3 brushes and 3 paints. There is a downloadable checklist with online links to dickblick art store.
No drawing is needed. I added a drawing of the boat which you can trace directly onto your paper with some carbon paper. I also added 3 images of the boat at different sizes so you can experiment with different compositions.
And each stage is laid out in clear and simple steps.
Finally, you get the chance to show me your work and get one piece of feedback from me and then to show me your second attempt and get another piece of feedback. This feedback could also be asking me a question about a problem you had while doing the painting, or some such query, and getting my feedback.
I am an English man living in Japan. I have been traveling around this interesting and wonderful country painting whatever takes my fancy for 18 years. Mostly, I love to paint landscapes and to capture the atmospheric quality of scenes at a particular moment in time.
